Jamaica 2021
I can’t believe I am writing this, but I just got back from my first vacation in over 2 years, and maannn did it ever feel good!
Traveling has always been something my husband and I are passionate about. See, we both come from single mothers who did everything to provide for us, so family trips were a privilege we didn’t often get. When we started dating, and even when we had kids, we promised that we would never give up our dream of seeing the world.
When this panorama took over, our dreams of traveling were put on hold, until Sunwing reached out to me with an incredible opportunity!
A trip for two to the Caribbean!
Words cannot describe how excited I was when I received this email. When I started in this industry, working with a travel company has been at the top of my vision board, and now 6 years later I am doing exactly that!
Now throughout the trip many of you have asked, ‘Where’s Hubby?’ ‘Where’re the girls?’ Since this was solely an opportunity for two, and I wasn’t ready to leave the girls behind without one of us present, I took this opportunity to have a girl’s trip, and it was the trip my heart didn’t know it needed!

Traveling during Covid definitely made me nervous, but Sunwing Vacations made the whole process so much easier! Here’s what was needed!
as of Novemer 30th 2021, you will have to provide proof of vaccination in order to board a flight or train in Canada, unless you are eligible for one of the limited exemptions.
PCR tests may be required by the country you are visiting regardless of vaccination status, so please be sure to check the requirements for entering another country, prior to booking your trip. If you are outside of Canada for more than 72 hours, you will have to provide a negative PCR test before returning.
Those two and older must wear a mask when within the airport/on aircraft, unless part of the limited exemptions, and exceptions are made when eating/drinking.
Download the ArriveCan and edeclaration App prior to leaving. This will make the customs process easier when you return!
If you are unsure of the requirements where you are from/going to, I highly recommend contacting a Sunwing Customer Service Rep! They will help make sure you have all the documentation needed to make your travel easier!
Upon arrival to Jamaica, a Sunwing rep met us outside of the airport, and directed us to our bus that safely transported us to our resort! The next morning we met with our Sunwing rep at the Hotel, who then helped us book our PCR test for returning, let us know when the bus will pick us up to return to the airport at the end of our stay, and also assisted us in booking excursions!
For the week that I was in my home country, my best friend and I stayed at Royalton Resort and Spa in Negril. Words cannot describe how incredible our stay was! From the friendly staff to the food, the beach, the sunset. Our stay was just * Chefs Kiss *
We were given the Diamond Club Experience upon arriving with Sunwing, and as a mother of two, I cannot tell you how amazing that was! For a week straight I had the privilege to not worry about a thing. We had a personal Butler who booked our al la cart reservations, kept us on schedule when it came to events/excursions, and who literally treated us like family! Oshane, if you read this, Ackee & Mild Sauce are truly thankful to have met you!

When it comes to packing for vacation, I like to keep things simple! I always check the weather of the location we are visiting, and then pack accordingly! Though I am someone who loves a new wardrobe for every trip, I decided to stick to what I picked up this past Summer! My dream is to one day capsulize my wardrobe…. But uhh don’t quote me on that just yet!
