Bermuda, 2016
So I've been sitting here, trying to think of what my first official post should be, and figured I should start sharing my favourite moments of 2016. So over the next few days, I will be sharing with you my favourite moments of this year!
2016 started off a little rough for me. Unsure of what to do with my life, I turned to Blogging/YouTubing as an outlet, which has opened so many doors for me. One particularly, that lead me to the beautiful island of Bermuda! From the moment I landed in this country, I felt like I was dreaming. The pink sands, crystal clear waters, and beautiful sunsets, were just breath taking. I don't think there was a part of this island that wasn't beautiful.
My Fiancé (then boyfriend), and I stayed with a family member in Warwick, which is just a few steps away from the beach. Though the water was a bit cold in April (as it was still their winter) it didn't stop us from swimming, snorkelling, and exploring the island!
Recommendations:
I recommend visiting between May and July (their warmer months). I've been told that August is extremely hot, and November to April can be a bit chilly! Horseshoe Bay is their most famous beach, but it can also be very touristy during the warmer months. If you walk just a bit further down the beach, you can find little secluded coves, should you prefer a more private area. There's a bon fire on the beach almost every night, and the locals are super friendly! If you ever want to join a fire pit, just walk up and say hello! Speaking of hellos, since the island is so small, everyone knows everyone. You'll notice as you walk down the street, that some people may stare at you. I promise this isn't because of your impeccably good looks, it's because they are simply waiting to say hello, or trying to figure out who you might be related to on the island. Food and drinks can also be pretty pricey on the island, as almost everything is imported to the country. If your fortunate enough to stay somewhere with a kitchen, air b&b or family member, I recommend going to a grocery store and picking up what you would need for your stay!
Here are a few pictures from our trip. I am literally counting down the days till we are able to go back!
